The message was loud and clear. I was different and perhaps a little difficult because of it. This was the narrative told to me…I thought differently, I wanted to make things better for the future not just for tomorrow, and I believed in people’s leadership potential especially those who were not clones.
Never being one for soft coating, papering over cracks or telling people what they want to hear. I wanted to work in an environment that embodies psychological safety where differences can be made, attempting to answer the tough questions without tap dancing around issues.
